Photography - Workshops & Tours: Discover What Awaits You

Please note:

While many of our Photography and Touring Experiences explore similar scenic routes, each journey is a unique opportunity to uncover hidden gems and capture unforgettable moments.

Whether you're eager to snap stunning shots with your smartphone along the way to craft compelling stories to share, or you're looking to elevate your photography skills, this is your perfect adventure.

I'm here to guide and inspire you every step of the way, helping you unlock your creative potential and see the world through a more artistic lens. Let's transform everyday sights into extraordinary memories!

  • I truly love helping people discover the magic of landscape and nature photography. Whether you're just starting out or you're already a seasoned photographer, I’m excited to share my passion and knowledge with you.

My workshops and driving tours are all about what excites you—whether it's capturing the stunning beauty of the seasons, exploring breathtaking spots like Loch Ard in The Trossachs, or simply finding new perspectives on the journey. I’ll share my approach, insights, and the techniques behind the images you admire.

Together, we’ll dive into the details of landscape and nature photography, tailoring each experience to your interests. Whether on foot or from the comfort of the car, I’ll ensure you get a personalised, inspiring adventure that enhances your skills and helps bring your vision to life. Let’s embark on this memorable journey and create extraordinary images together!

  • On the day(s) of our shoot, I will take care of all the logistics, allowing you to focus fully on capturing those perfect moments. I’m also happy to discuss the complexities of planning and forecasting with you.

Understanding how to select locations and plan each shoot is essential for success. A key part of this involves predicting the weather conditions during our session—this foresight can make all the difference in achieving stunning, well-lit images. I can share my insights into the best apps and tools for weather forecasting and show you how to use them effectively.

Together, we’ll explore the planning process, equipping you with the knowledge and tools to optimise your photography adventures and turn every outing into a rewarding experience.

  • Throughout our time together, we’ll explore everything you need to know about capturing great photos in the moment.

We’ll begin with any technical skills you’d like to improve, and then move on to the artful aspects—like framing your shots and making the most of light. My goal is to help you unlock your creativity, because everyone sees the world in their own unique way.

I’ll encourage you to express yourself through the scenery we discover, and remember—there’s no right or wrong. What truly matters is that you’re proud of the images you create.

During our workshop, I’ll be there to assist with any challenges you encounter. Most importantly, we’ll focus on enjoying the experience, making sure it’s fun and inspiring every step of the way.

Spending time in nature often brings a smile to your face, and I want to ensure we capture that joy while creating some fantastic photos!

  • While this workshop isn’t primarily centred on post-processing, I recognise how essential it is—since post-processing can account for around 50% of creating a truly remarkable image.

If we encounter challenging weather conditions that limit our outdoor photography, I’d be delighted to offer a relaxed, coffee-chat style exploration of my post-processing techniques.

During these informal sessions, I’ll happily share insights from my personal workflow, providing practical tips that you can apply to your own photography. I’ll also prepare some concise reference notes—an ‘Aide-Memoire’ for you to take away and explore at your own pace, helping the knowledge continue to benefit you long after our workshop ends.

These optional discussions are meant to be relaxed and tailored to your interests, creating a valuable opportunity to learn about post-processing without taking away from the main focus on photography. Think of it as a bonus experience, inspired by whatever comes up—be it curiosity or a bit of weather inconveniencing us!

Testimonials

Testimonials are a photographer's secret weapon for marketing workshops.

They're more than just nice words, they provide Social Proof and Credibility, help with Personal Connection and Emotional Resonance, they can help Build Trust and Reducing Perceived Risk, and Highlighting Unique Workshop and Individual Qualities… and there’s more, but safe to say they are important.

“Quick background on me, I am a life long photographer who specialised in motorsport photography and in particular Motorcycle racing at all levels. I have been published in motorcycle journals, worked on commissions for motorcycle teams and on behalf of individual racers from grassroots to ex motorcycle world champion Randy Mamola for whom I supplied promotional images.

For the last few years I have expanded my photography portfolio to include wildlife and landscape images and it was during a wildlife outing to photograph White tailed eagles in Mull onboard the Lady Jane that I met and became firm friends with Phil.

We hit it off immediately with our passion for photography and it quickly became apparent to me that Phil was in another league in regards to his ability both technically and compositionally to myself, although you would never here that from Phil as that is not the type of man he is.

With me he has been extremely generous with his time and imparting his knowledge and professional standard of photography in regards to both wildlife and landscape expertise. We have, since meeting on Mull, been on a few outings throughout the Trossachs area where Phil has lived and worked for over thirty years. His passion for the Trossachs and its photogenic beauty flows from him and is so very contagious. Big Phil as i call him, is a highly professional photographer and exceptional talent who loves nothing more than encouraging and educating like minded photographers from raw beginners through to more experienced individuals.

If you are thinking of enhancing your skills regardless of your current level of photographic ability this is the man I strongly recommend. You will not only come away from his course a better photographer but you will also have had a very relaxed and fun filled break with a fantastic tutor in a beautiful part of Scotland”.
