Bluebells carpet the woodland floor
Packed so tightly that insects tip-toe
Softly and quietly between them.
Their beauty unlocks a woodland door

With such colour of delicate blue,
And a fragrance that is heaven sent.
They droop their heads in the spring rain,
With their beauty making all things new.

Bluebell Days in The Trossachs

Learning how to use your camera and explore different aspects of Nature Photography.

Bluebells

You want to continue your journey into Nature Photography. You are in a good place.

This has lots going for it:

  • Central Scotland

  • Great Location

  • Superb Environment

Here's what I'd like to do:

Give you a great day out in the woods, there is a short walk from where we park but it’s an easy walk.

Aberfoyle was once upon a time one of the most recommended places to go for viewing Bluebells. This area hasn’t changed it remains an amazing, beautiful ancient woodland and at the right time it is carpeted with you guessed it… Bluebells!.

There are no dates booked or reserved.

So, please contact me if you are interested, there’s an email facility at the bottom of the page.

If you would like to be part of a group, up to 6 (Plus me) can be accommodated, but I’m happy doing this on a one-2-one basis if you prefer. (The cost will be slightly more).

We are talking fundamentally about May 2025. Obviously dates may change slightly. If you are interested drop me an email please, I will start a list and keep you informed.

We will be out for 3 hrs from 8.30am and the cost will be £35pp

Group Size max 6No.

‘am’ is the best light. The sun rises to the North and as it moves South the Bluebells get some amazing light, dappled on the bells by the woodland, it’s stunning.

However, in the morning the Bluebells and grass are always wet, if we are not following rain, it will be dew!, so Wellington are a good shout.

I love this time of year for me it’s the best month in Scotland AND it’s usually Midge FREE!.

Last Word…

The undergrowth will be wet especially early on.

The area is stunning and needs to remain so. Not just for this year but for the future.

There is a path around the bottom of the hill to give us our principal access. Looking into the Bells you we will see animal paths where the Bells are trodden, we should stick to them as best we can. If we are quiet or lucky the odd Roe Deer may pass us bye, you will hear Woodpecker and other woodland birds.

I’ve already mentioned what a great place this is, for me it is one of the best places to see Bluebells, we are lucky.

ps.. bring a big memory card and spare batteries, you will need them, and remember lunch and a drink… you might want to stay beyond the finish time… I might stay beyond that time too!.

Hopefully I will see you in May.
